These are the questions that land in our inbox most often. The answers are short on purpose. Where a longer explanation exists, we link to it.
About gambling
Is there a system that beats online slots?
No. Slot results come from a random number generator, and every game is set up to return less than it takes over time. Patterns, timing tricks and "hot machine" lists do not change that.
Can I make a living from gambling?
Treat that idea as a warning sign. Casino games have a built-in edge for the operator. Betting markets carry a margin. Treat gambling as entertainment with a cost, not as income.
Are online slots rigged?
Games from licensed operators are tested to make sure results are random and match the published rules. That does not make them generous. It means the cost is fixed in the design rather than hidden in cheating. Unlicensed sites offer no such checks.
Are live dealer games fairer than normal slots or tables?
They use real cards and wheels instead of software, which some players trust more. The house edge is still there, built into the same rules and payouts as the software version.
About bonuses
Is a bonus free money?
Rarely. Most bonuses come with wagering requirements that make you stake the bonus many times before you can withdraw. Read the terms before you accept anything.
Which bonus type is easiest to understand?
Cashback paid in cash with no wagering is usually the most transparent. Even then, it only returns part of a loss.
About safety
How do I spot a fake casino?
Check the licence with the regulator it names. Be wary of sites that push deposits through private chats, offer huge guaranteed returns, or contact you after you have lost money elsewhere.
What is the single most useful safety tool?
A deposit limit, set before you play. It takes a minute and works even when your judgement does not. See Setting Limits for the rest.
Someone offered to recover my lost money. Should I pay?
No. So-called recovery services that charge upfront fees are a well-known follow-up scam aimed at people who were already cheated.
About the law
Am I allowed to gamble online?
That one is yours to check, not ours. It depends on your country and sometimes your region. Check the rules where you live, using official government or regulator sources.
What is the minimum age?
Our articles are written for adults of 18 or older. In some places the legal gambling age is higher, and that higher age applies.
About us
Do you run a casino or take bets?
No. KOGV Gambling only publishes articles. More on who we are is on About KOGV Gambling.
Can you recommend a casino?
We do not rank or recommend operators. We explain how games and offers work so you can judge them yourself.
I have a question that is not here.
Send it over via the contact page. If enough people ask the same thing, it ends up on this page.
Something to add?
A short note is enough.
Asked and answered
The blunt version
Quick replies to things readers ask us all the time.
Will reading this site help me win?
No. It will help you understand what you are paying for. Every game and market has a margin for the operator, and no guide removes it.
Why do you keep mentioning limits?
Because they work. A deposit cap set in advance does more for a player than any strategy article we could write.
Are bonuses worth taking?
Some are, many are not. Look at the wagering multiple, the cap and the game list before you accept anything.
Is it legal for me to play online?
That depends on your country and sometimes your region. We cannot judge it for you. Check official sources where you live.
